Confession: I am not pleased with my bedroom. It's not conducive to my creativity, or positive energy. I still have decorations from college on my wall, and close in my closet from that time period as well. And while my dresser is somewhat updated with skin and beauty products I now use, it's still not pleasing to the eye.
I am a strong believer in the space that you reside in being a reflection of your mind. My room is so crowded, and frankly, that's where my mind is at too- with so many changes in my life. I am at the point where I can't take it anymore. As I'm trying to clear my mind, and walk in peace, I have to do the same with my room. So from now and into the new year, I will be transforming my crowded, small room to a peaceful, minimalistic theme. And I will be documenting it step-by-step within a blog series.
It's about time I do away with the old, and leave space for what is new now, and what is to come. I'm excited about this journey! And if you're in the same boat as me, let's take this journey together! Isn't about time, we clear our minds and spaces?
My entire room will be transformed (except for the walls, because ain't nobody got time or energy to paint), with a focus on these six areas. As you can see, my room is crowded (a nicer word for mess), and no matter how hard I try to straighten it up, it can never look "minimal" unless I get rid of a lot! Sot that is what I will be doing! Below are a few pictures which I will be drawing my inspiration from!
Of course there will be challenges, as always. My room is significantly small, and a perfect square, making it nearly impossible to store things. And I am also on a very strict budget. But that is also what will make this journey worthwhile! I'm ready for change!
Have you ever transformed your room?
