This year for me and my sister's birthday trip we went to Houston! It was an unforgettable girl's trip and much needed mental break for all of us to recharge!
Houston was absolutely wonderful, and the weather was a big part of it (as you can see in the photos). When packing outfit choices, I planned for warm weather, and I was granted that (thank God)! The weather ranged from a humid mid 70s to low 80s. Check out how I styled my trip to Houston, as well as my beautiful sister and friends!
Long Skirt Paired With Boyfriend Tee
This look was totally carefree. We did a lot of walking this day sightseeing and shopping, so it was the perfect ensemble to wear. This skirt has a split on both sides, allowing lots of breeze, so I wouldn't be too hot in the sun. And the boyfriend tee is a loose V-neck to add a contrast to the fitted skirt. It was monochromatically cool. I paired the ensemble with a gold, long necklace and brown sandals (compliments of my friend Chenea).
Distressed Shorts With Striped Tank & Button Up
My friend Chenea has the most effortlessly beach-ready style, but can easily be glammed out for an evening out with the girls. On this day, since we were out and about, she paired her ripped denim shorts with an oversized tank and button up. It gave such a West coast vibe, I'm sure other pedestrians thought we were from the West Coast. Her brown choker with an oval medallion, added a bit of afrocentricity to the look.
Army Green Romper With Statement Necklace
Noelle also went with comfortability when it came to her outfit choices for the day. Her style provides simplicity and fierceness at the same damn time. For this day she decided to wear an army green romper with spaghetti straps, and a deep neckline. The necklace she wore had lighter tones of green and lavender; perfect complimentary colors.
Black Bodycon Dress With Blue Flannel
Kierra gave fierceness all weekend! Many of her outfits were color coordinated, just like the outfit pictured above. She paired her black bodycon dress with a flannel to match with her blue sneakers. To accessorize, she matched her ensemble with a gold watch and black sunglasses.
Patterned Pant With Fitted Tank
Kennedy's style gave a hippiness for the day. Apart from her beautiful Havana twists, her patterned pants complimented her shape, and the fitted tank was a perfect match. Her platform sandals added to the boho look and turned this laid back look to a more glammed day look.
T-Shirt Dress With Cool-Toned Flannel
Meet my twin sister, Mieshia! She is the glammest part of me I wish I had! This day outfit reflects the laid back part of her style. She simply matched a navy blue t-shirt dress with a cool-toned flannel to compliment the shade of her dress. Her hair was big, with juicy curls so her outfit did not have to be over-the-top. She paired the ensemble with tan sandals.

And yes! That is an engagement ring you see! My boyfriend proposed and I said yes! That's a whole new dimension of Hay Queen! that will be implemented. I will be blogging about us preparing for our marriage and wedding celebration! :))
