You know what I'm tired of? People's opinions. It's okay to give advice, but some people are just plain rude!
Example: Why do you wear so much weave? It doesn't look right on you. You should just wear your hair.
Here's what is wrong with this statemrnt:
1. You don't know why I wear weave.
2. Did you pay for it?
3. Do you know the maintenance of my natural hair?
4. Are you going to help style my real hair?
5. Your opinion isn't my opinion, nor is it everyone else's.
Am I alone with feeling this way?
Queens, let me remind you that your style and fashion does not have to be explained to anyone, unless you have a career in those areas. Other than that, those commentators can kick rocks.
And it really trips me out when men are the ones giving this commentary. Excuse me sir, I don't dress for you. You're not my employer, the Lord or my husband- so we're done here. And I've heard so much from guys commenting negatively on my appearance, ranging from, but not limited to:
-You wear too much makeup.
-You're going to wear yoga pants?
-You ain't got no curves!
-You should wear your hair straight.
-Do you own a skirt, or something with more leg?
-Sneaker wedges are basic. (Are they really, though?)
Just rude. I just feel like, if you're not paying my bills, nor going to dress me or do my hair- what is there to comment about? It really comes from a sense of entitlement. I understand the phrase, "everyone is entitled to their opinion." But allow me to revamp that. You have the freedom to have an opinion, but you are not entitled to share it with or towards me.
And I'm done.
What is your opinion? Don't worry, you're welcomed to share here! Comment below!
