I finally tried my first L-part, full wig! I truly stepped out of my comfort zone with this unit! Straying away from my usual curly, black or brown weaves. I've also never tried a unit this long as well! It was a totally new experience!
But let me start from the beginning! Fall weather is upon us, and I knew that for the colder months I wanted to try straight styles. I originally wanted to purchase a kinkier, blown out texture, but it was sold out! So, this unit had been on my radar. Initially, I planned to cut it, but I challenged myself to wear the length to see how I'd like it. The unit is by Model Model and it is called, "Alpine Meadow" in the color OM99J. The color appears dark brown in dim lighting, but definitely switches to a wine red in lit areas. The texture is more of a Yaki straight. And it comes styled as well with about 18" to work with. There is lace in the front, but you are only able to utilize the part given, you cannot create your own part. The parting space was decent, but I decided to pull a few hairs to widen it a bit. I also added my foundation press powder for the part to match the color of my scalp. There are two combs on each side of the part, and a comb in the nape as well. There are also adjustable straps, and the hair can take heat up to 400 degrees fahrenheit.
I decided to wear the hair as a middle part for personal preference. I can't stand long hair in my face, and a middle part looked more natural- like a sew in. I also allowed some of my hairline to show, using edge control to slick it down. My hair was flat twisted underneath, with a brown wig cap.
So let's start with the pros! These are the things I loved about this unit:
And atlas, here are the cons to this unit:
So would I recommend this unit? Of course I would! My experience was not horrible, and I received a lot of compliments on my hair. As well as, fooled a few people into thinking it was a sew-in. This hair is very fall appropriate, and is a small step for those wanting to change their appearance temporarily from curly girl status. Not to mention, the hair is super-affordable!
