I just can't stay away from this style! This past weekend I installed my third set of crochet braids, and I think I'm becoming a pro. I did change a little bit, and I am pleased with my results. I have to get used to it though (typical).
This time around I did not cut my hair in half, but kept its length minus two inches. I used Freetress Bohemian Curl again because I wanted a low-manipulation style. It took me about five hours to complete it. I left a very small amount of my hair in the front, but this time kept the nape of my hair braided. So majority of the style is the Freetress; a little change from my previous times with this style. After I was done installing the hair, I felt that it was too Chaka Khan-inspired and I used braid spray to weigh the hair down. I then sectioned the hair and put chunky twists all around. My leave-out I simply flat twisted.
I'm still getting used to the style. At first I thought it was too much because of how big it is- which is crazy to think since I do sport my afro when I don't have weave. I don't know, I guess with this extra hair, I receive extra stares. But who cares, let the spectators spectate, and the haters hate! lol I'll be sure to update you all in a few weeks about my maintainence with these longer crochet braids!
