So for the past 2.5 months I have been rocking two wigs by Outre in the style "Penny" and I have been loving it! Not only is the curl pattern in the unit gorgeous, but the convenience of snapping on a wig gave me so much life!
If you've read about my natural hair journey, you know that as I've continued on with my hair journey I have grown lazier when it comes to maintenance. I really just don't have the time. I love my hair, but I don't like doing it every night (hell, not even every week). So this year, especially, I have been seeking out protective hairstyles.
What is a protective hairstyle? A hairstyle that protects. Simple, right? It can either completely shield or blend with your actual hair to protect from harsh elements such as, clothing, excessive styling and improper maintenance (aka being lazy when you know you need to do your hair).
So this time around, I chose wigs! I can still wash my hair as often as usual, and I can switch it up as quick as I want. For example, waking up with a 'fro but attending an event later that day with 18-inch curls. *hair flip*
I purchased two of the same units in two different colors. The first photo is in a DR30 and the second photo in a 1B. I purchased both from ebonyhair.com For around $22 each. They are synthetic units, with a Brazilian-inspired curl pattern. The 1B unit I cut into a longer bob because I wanted to experiment with a curly bob (pictured below). And the DR30 I kept most of its length, but cut around two inches off due to consistent tangling (before and after cutting pictured below).
